Pilar Faucet with touch

We’ve all had those days when your hands are full and you need to turn on the faucet. It likely happens much more to parents with little ones. Trying to balance a baby on the hip while needing to turn on the water. It’s of course possible to pull off the task. However, it’d be far easier to do it with this Pilar faucet. Instead of having to turn a handle, all you have to do is touch the faucet and it kicks on immediately.

Not only will it sense your touch and turn on when you touch the spout, but if you touch the handle it will do the same thing. The faucet comes in two different forms, you can pick it up in a chrome finish or choose the stainless steel version. The stainless steel one will end up costing you a bit more though. The best part about this faucet is that it’s able to distinguish between a touch and a grab. That means that when you’re adjusting the temperature, it’s not going to kick the water on and off. You can purchase the chrome faucet for $495 and the stainless steel will cost you $547.

DXG-125V

The DXG-125V is designed for those who regularly hike through the woods, ski down high mountains, or sail through the ocean. Sadly, I am not part of this extreme crowd, but if I was, then I could use this camera to record my adventures. The DXG has a rubberized grip that can protect it against the rugged wear and tear. You may not be able to scuba dive with it, but this all-weather camcorder can resist moisture quite well.

Sadly, it only has a 1/4 CMOS 1.0 Megapixel Sensor, which is only good for still shots on an ordinary cameraphone. It also only has 128MB of Flash Memory, but this can be expanded with a SD card. The video can shoot in High Definition formats of H.264 and WVGA and 720p, both at 30 frames per second.

As you can see, it has a candybar form that allows the user to point, shoot, and film and view the results with the 2.0 TFT screen. The DXG-125V comes with a clip with a compass for a definite “outdoorsy” look, as well as HDMI cable, USB, software, and all the other usual digital camera accessories plus a nice-looking clamshell zipper-shut case. It also comes with a tiny pair of headphones, because this DXG camcorder is also MP3 compatible.

You should be able to pick up the DXG-125V at the DXG site for $139.99 in red, green, or camouflage colors.

Tallen Series Laptop Deck

Although the screen on your digital camera gives you an idea on how the picture will look, it’s not entirely accurate. Usually once you blow the picture up you can notice details like the picture being the slightest bit blurry or when a mischievous child has decided to pull a prank in the picture. Usually it’s not a big deal to get home and notice those issues. However, for professional photographers if they miss a shot they really need it could cost them. Which means their laptop stays with them quite a bit. Well this stand will make it possible for them to use their laptop a little easier in different environments.

When you’re outdoors you don’t exactly want to just sit your laptop in the grass. This deck will hold your laptop and keep it right where you need it. It’ll hold up to a 17 inch laptop and one that weighs up to 8lbs. Just hook it up to a tripod and it’ll stay plenty steady. Of course the attachment is a little expensive. It’s going to cost you $85 from Tallyn’s Professional Photographic Supply.
As with most professional-oriented ballheads, the Tallyn laptop deck doesn't come cheap. It's priced at $84.95 on the company's Web site.

2XL Headphone

While I was visiting the Skull Candy booth at CES last January, they talked about their 2XL collection. I’m not certain my why Skull Candy is forgetting about the popular log and branching out with this separate new collection, but it is here.

The Spoke (top left) is your basic in ear bud with noise isolation and in-ear acoustics. It bears a strong resemblance to the standard iPod earbuds and costs $14.99.

The Groove (top right) is a little bit more advanced, but only because it has the hanger function for around the ear. Unlike the Coosh Headphones, this hanger is not flexible, but these headphones cost just $14.99.

The Ratio (bottom right) is another ear bud, but different in style from that of the Spoke. It is the lowest price at just $9.99.

The 4 Corners (bottom left) is an over-the-ear headphones that hearken back to the days of the Sony Walkman. The square pads cover the ears well, and are at the highest price of $19.99. (To this writing, these style of headphones are out of stock, but probably will be replenished soon! Hopefully before the holidays.)

The 2XL headphones come in oddly-named color combinations that you have to check out for yourself to believe like Wrecking Ball, Snake Eyes, Nuevo Sonido, Grills Black, Grills Pink, Rasta, and Bunny. You should be able to head on over to the 2XL website and order up any style of these headphones (with currently one exception) for the varying prices listed above, or at merchandisers everywhere like Kohl’s and Best Buy

Pc Prankster

If you have a co-worker that really just needs paid back for their charming personality, here’s the way to do it. It’ll allow for you to sneakily drive them crazy, but not do any actual harm to their computer. This USB drive can be jammed into the back of the computer where they’re highly unlikely to find it, unless they should inspect the back. However, by that time you’ll have gotten at least a little enjoyment out of their frustration.

The USB drive has a time delay, so it gives you plenty of time to get away from their computer before it starts causing trouble. Once it does start working it’ll turn the caps lock on and off, type out random text and phrases as well as make the mouse make random movements. I’d be careful who you play this trick on though, if they find out it was you they’ll be itching for revenge. Right now there’s not any pricing information, but you can expect to see more on the Thumbs Up website at the end of the month.

Philips “Mirror of Emotions Rationalizer”

I don’t work from home as an investor, but I can imagine that the life of constant up and down stocks is enough to drive any man crazy. This is why Philips is working on a device known as the “Rationalizer”, a device that serves as a “mirror for your emotions”.

Here is the concept behind this concept device. The user wears an Emobracelet on their wrist which measures the “arousal component of the user’s emotion through a galvanic skin response sensor”. This EmoBracelet is synced wirelessly with the EmoBowl, a bowl with lighted patterns to show a user’s emotional readout. The range is a soft yellow, orange, or deep red.
When the user sees that the bowl is flashing red, that is like an alert. It signals to the user that they should take a break before making a decision that might be primarily based on intense emotions rather than study.
I can see the benefits of this for investors, but I think anyone in any position where big decisions are made could easily wear one as well. I can see bosses of the future have this lighted bowl on their desk. I fear the worker who is in the room when it turns red. Chances are, that worker might be seeing pink, in the form of a slip.

Ambert Alert GPS

BrickHouse Security has just unveiled its latest Amber Alert GPS (AAGPS) system that will offer unprecedented peace of mind to families, where the diminutive Amber Alert GPS will provide parents with the opportunity to make sure that their kids are safe and accounted for when they’re away from home in a new and easy way. This is made possible thanks to updated GPS technology, which ought to go some ways in making sure that horror stories of parents being separated from their children (intentionally or accidentally) will not happen – or at least, lower the risk by a whole lot more.

The AAGPS will work best when used with the company’s BrickHouse Child Locator product that was featured in Duracell ads most recently. Unlike the Locator that relies on GPS technology to make sure that parents are alerted when their child wanders beyond a set distance of up to 600 feet, the AAGPS device will offer the ability to remotely locate your very own children when they are away, where the nearest way to catch up with them would be to buy a flight ticket and jet set across the continent. All the parent needs to do is place the Amber Alert GPS System into their child’s personal items such as pockets and backpacks, or a more direct approach by attaching it to a wrist, ankle, or belt. Whenever you call or text the AAGPS device, it will return a detailed map and address of the child’s exact location via any text- or web-enabled phone within seconds. Of course, you can also opt to view location updates on your computer if you so desire.
You know what they say – there are no limits to the price of safety and one’s life. The Amber Alert GPS might be rather pricey at $379 a pop alongside a compulsory monthly subscription plan, but contrast that with losing a loved one instead to see just how valuable this could be in the event of an emergency?
