Egyptian VS Algerian Riot

The violent madness that engulfs Egyptian and Algerian footballing relations exploded yet again, this time during Saturday's African Champions League match between Egpyt's Zamalek and Tunisia's Club Africain. With Zamalek leading 2-1 in the second leg but still down 5-4 on aggregate, they had a vital late goal disallowed after being ruled offside. The home fans decided to blame the match's Algerian referee and in stoppage time, hundreds of them stormed the pitch.

The match was abandoned as the officials fled the scene and the crazies on the pitch threw stones, lit flares and attacked both the players and each other.

From Reuters:

An Egyptian official in the ministry of health said nine people were injured in the incident, according to the state news agency MENA. He did not give their nationalities.

The incident revived the soccer tension between Egypt and Algeria of the recent past.

Algeria and Egypt had a diplomatic row late in 2009 over an ill-tempered qualification match for the World Cup.

Both sides traded accusations about crowd violence and intimidation and Cairo withdrew its ambassador from Algiers.

Africain will likely be awarded the victory once this mess is sorted out and Zamalek should be in for some kind of sanctions against them (key word there being "should"). Also, note how the video above ends with a creepy horror movie type cut out, making it just that much more disturbing. We don't know for sure, but there's a good chance that's when Godzilla attacked.

UPDATE: Egypt prime minister Essam Sharaf has apologized to Tunisia, the Africain players and the Algerian referee for what he described as "an act of thuggery" at Cairo Stadium. He has ordered the interior ministry to launch an investigation and called for the African Champions League to be suspended.

41 Dead in Pakistan Suicide Blasts at Sufi Shrine

MULTAN, Pakistan (Reuters) - Two Taliban suicide bombers caused carnage on Sunday at a Sufi shrine in eastern Pakistan, killing at least 41 people and wounding scores in the latest bloody attack on minority religious groups.
"These were suicide bombings and we arrested an attacker who could not completely detonate the explosives on his body. He was wounded," Zahid Ali, a police officer in Dera Ghazi Khan city where the blasts took place, told Reuters by telephone.
Police said some 65 people were wounded. They said the attackers struck during an annual ceremony for the Sufi saint to whom the shrine is dedicated.
"I was just a few yards away from the place where the blast happened," said witness Faisal Iqbal.
"People started running outside the shrine. Women and children were crying and screaming. It was like hell."
Taliban militants, who follow an austere interpretation of Sunni Islam, condemn other interpretations of Islam as heretical and have launched repeated attacks on the country's Shi'ite, Sufi and Christian minorities. They claimed responsibility for Sunday's suicide bombings.
"Our men carried out these attacks and we will carry out more in retaliation for government operations against our people in the northwest," Taliban spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan told Reuters by telephone from an undisclosed location.
Last October, a bomb blast at a Sufi shrine in another eastern city, Pak Pattan, killed six people. In July, 42 people were killed in a bomb attack in Pakistan's most important Sufi shrine, in Lahore, the capital of eastern Punjab province.
Many analysts say the attacks are motivated by more than religious hatred, and that militant groups hope by inflaming sectarian tensions they can further destabilise Pakistan and weaken the government's tenuous grip on the country.

6.7 Magnitude Earthquake hit in Indonesia

Magnitude-6.7 earthquake strikes off Indonesia

Hundreds of residents fled an Indonesian port town for higher ground on Monday when an earthquake struck south of Java with a magnitude estimated by US seismologists at 6.7.

The epicentre in the Indian Ocean was 24 kilometres (15 miles) miles deep, the US Geological Survey said, after initially estimating it at 10 kilometres underground, and 277 kilometres south of the Javanese coast.

Indonesian seismologists put the magnitude at 7.1 and issued a tsunami warning, saying the tremor had the potential to cause a killer wave and asking recipients of its public alert SMS to warn others of the danger.

The warning was later cancelled.

When the quake struck hundreds of residents in the seaport town of Cilacap fled inland and to higher ground by motorbike, car and on foot, an AFP reporter said.

"They were all panicking and shouting 'quake, quake'," the reporter said.

Suharjono, the technical head of Indonesia's Meteorology and Geophysics Agency, who like many Indonesians uses only one name, said shaking from the tremor had been felt in Pangandaran and Cilacap districts in Java.

"This quake roused people from their sleep," he said. "We have not received any reports of damage or casualties so far."

The US Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre had said that there was no risk of a widespread destructive wave, but there was a "very small possibility of a local tsunami".

The earthquake epicentre was 241 kilometres from the remote Australian territory of Christmas Island, and seismologists said the tremor was felt there, but no tsunami warning alert was issued for Australia.

"We had reports from there that they felt it," Geoscience Australia seismologist David Jepson told AFP, adding that it was described as a "moderate type quake".

Geoscience Australia put the quake at 6.7 magnitude.

New Fake Anti-Spyware Program MS Removal Tool

Take a look at MS Removal Tool’s behavior on video
Enigmasoftware.com / Enigmasoftware.com
(PRLEAP.COM) EnigmaSoftware.com has released a new removal and informational report on the emergence of the rogue anti-spyware program called MS Removal Tool.

MS Removal Tool is a rogue anti-spyware application which uses the same graphical user interface and tactics as its predecessor System Tool – another popular scamware program. MS Removal Tool is also similar to other well-known rogue anti-spyware programs, including AntiMalware GO, Windows Power Expansion, System Tool 2011, and many others. MS Removal Tool uses self-protection techniques such as block the usage of Windows utilities (Task Manager, Registry Editor, Command prompt, etc.) which can be used to remove this bogus program.

Typically, MS Removal Tool may use Trojans to infiltrate computers. Often these Trojans install on a computer by pretending to be video codec installations required to view online videos. Another technique used by rogue anti-spyware programs is to use browser hijackers to change computer users’ homepage and redirect them to fake online scanner webpages with links to download a fake anti-spyware installer.

Once MS Removal Tool has made its way into a computer, it will issue an array of fictitious warning messages and scan reports that claim the computer is infected with spyware. MS Removal Tool was designed to look and feel like a real anti-spyware program, but, in reality, it is not able to scan, detect and remove known online threats. MS Removal Tool is just a ploy to get PC users to make a hasty decision and purchase a fraudulent program. To purchase MS Removal Tool is to relinquish credit card information to cybercrooks instead of getting a functional anti-spyware application. If you did fall for MS Removal Tool’s scare tactics and purchased it, read this MS Removal Tool removal guide or contact your credit card provider and dispute the charges.

MS Removal Tool uses aggressive techniques to foil computer users. These techniques include the display of multiple pop-up alert messages. These messages include deceiving statements such as listed below:

"MS Removal Tool Warning
Intercepting programs that may compromise your private and harm your system have been detected on your PC. Click here to remove them immediately with MS Removal Tool."

"MS Removal Tool Warning
Your PC is infected with dangerous viruses. Activate antivirus protection to prevent data loss and avoid the theft of your credit card details. Click here to activate protection."

"MS Removal Tool
Some critical system files of your computer were modified by malicious program. It may cause system instability and data loss."

Beware of rogue anti-spyware programs that creep into your computer without your knowledge and protect your computer from falling victim to an Internet scam. Details on MS Removal Tool and how to detect it automatically can be found in EnigmaSoftware.com’s MS Removal Tool report.

Green Lantern On Cinema

Green Lantern Footage

"In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil's might, beware my power... Green Lantern's light!" In turn-around mode from the negative reaction to the first trailer, Warner Bros has released the full 4-minutes of footage from Green Lantern shown at WonderCon & CinemaCon this past week (watch my video blog) online via Apple. Green Lantern starsRyan Reynolds as Hal Jordan, and Mark Strong as Sinestro. I think this footage is impressive, even the "alive" CGI suit looks great, but I'll let everyone form their own opinion. There's also a new poster viaThe Daily Blam below!

Watch the 4 mins of WonderCon footage from Martin Campbell's Green Lantern:

You can also watch the Green Lantern footage in High Definition on Apple

A test pilot (Ryan Reynolds) is granted a mystical green ring that bestows him with otherworldly powers, as well as membership into an intergalactic squadron tasked with keeping the peace within the universe.

ShangHai DisneyLand

Construction of the world's sixth Disney amusement park will start in Shanghai Friday following years of negotiations between the US company and Chinese authorities, the Wall Street Journal said.
Walt Disney Co. and its local partners have issued invitations to "a special event in Shanghai" on April 8, the paper reported Saturday, quoting an anonymous source.
AFP could not immediately confirm the report with the Shanghai municipal authorities or Disney's Chinese partner, the Shanghai Shendi Group Co. Ltd., the consortium that will operate the project.
Shanghai's mayor has estimated the amusement park will cost 24.4 billion yuan ($3.7 billion), the Journal said, which would make it one of the largest foreign investments in China.
The park will cover 963 acres (390 hectares), which makes it just a 26th of the size of Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, the business paper said.
Work on the project, which was approved by Beijing in 2009, has fallen behind the schedule previously reported by the Chinese media, which had said construction would begin in November 2010.
The theme park site is expected to include two hotels, a commercial and restaurant complex and a lake, the paper said.
Tom Staggs, the head of Disney's parks and resorts division, recently said the project would take five years to complete, the Journal reported.
The Shanghai Disneyland would be the US entertainment giant's third theme park in Asia, after those in Tokyo and Hong Kong. It also has two parks in the United States and one in Paris.
Hong Kong Disneyland has had a bumpy ride since opening its gates in 2005, with local lawmakers saying low attendance has not justified the huge public investment.
The mainland is the main source of visitors for the Hong Kong park, last year accounting for 2.2 million visitors, or 42 percent of the total, according to the latest park figures.
In mainland China, Disney employs more than 600 people and markets its products in over 25 cities.
Last year it launched an English teaching centre in Shanghai for children aged between two and 10.

Prince William No Ring After Wedding

The royal will marry his fiancée Kate Middleton on April 29 at Westminster Abbey in London. The couple announced their engagement last year and since then there has been intense speculation about their big day. William and Kate have chosen to reveal certain aspect about their wedding at set times, such as that they will leave their wedding in the same gold carriage his mother Princess Diana used when she married Prince Charles in 1981.
It has now been suggested William has decided against the tradition of wearing a ring once he ties the knot with Kate.
“There is only going to be one ring, in accordance with the couple's wishes,” a palace spokeswoman told People.
Kate’s band will be made from Welsh gold, which is special to the royal family. William’s grandmother Queen Elizabeth was gifted some of the expensive metal years ago and it has been kept in a vault awaiting a special occasion ever since.
“[Queen Elizabeth II has] given a piece of the gold that has been in the family for many years to Prince William as a gift,” a source explained.
The gold is being transformed into a special wedding band by a professional who is adept at such matters, rumoured to be Crown Jeweller Harry Collins.

$1Billion Sued to Facebook

Facebook and co-founder Mark Zuckerberg have been hit with a lawsuit seeking more than $1 billion in damages over a page on the social network which called for a "Third Intifada" against Israel.
Facebook this week shut down the "Third Intifada" page, which had almost 500,000 fans, but the lawsuit filed in a court here claims that the social network showed "negligence" by not quickly responding to appeals to remove the page.
Besides awarding damages, the complaint calls on the court to bar Facebook "from allowing the Facebook page titled 'Third Palestinian Intifada,' and other related and similar sites, which advocate violence and death to Jews."
The suit, a copy of which was obtained by technology blog TechCrunch, was filed in DC Superior Court by Larry Klayman, who describes himself in the complaint as "an American citizen of Jewish origin" who is "active in matters concerning the security of Israel and all people."
Klayman also identifies himself as the founder of Freedom Watch, whose website describes it as a political advocacy group dedicated to protecting privacy, free speech and other rights and "our national sovereignty against the incompetent, terrorist state-controlled United Nations."
Facebook dismissed the case as "without merit" and said it would fight.
"While we haven't been served with a complaint, we believe the case is without merit and we will fight it vigorously," a Facebook spokesman said.
Facebook shut down the page on Tuesday, several days after Israeli Public Diplomacy Minister Yuli Edelstein sent a letter to Zuckerberg urging him to remove it.
Facebook said the page was initially tolerated because it "began as a call for peaceful protest" but direct calls for violence began appearing and the page was removed for violating Facebook's policies.

Japans Gadget Prices increase?

Japan produces between 15 percent and 20 percent of the world's electronics and "plays a particularly key role in some areas," said Jean-Philippe Dauvin of Paris-based consulting company Decision.
Disaster-hit Japan churns out many of the world's smartphones, video cameras and other gadgets and while sales are not expected to suffer around the globe, industry analysts expect prices to rise.
"From semiconductors to displays, to automotive and consumer electronics, the effects of the Japan earthquake continue to reverberate throughout the world," said Dale Ford, senior vice president at research firm IHS iSuppli.
"Beyond the damage to Japan's own industrial base, the earthquake has impacted the production of basic electronic raw materials," Ford said.
Dauvin said 30 percent of the videogames, 40 percent of the video cameras and still cameras and 15 percent of the television sets sold around the world are manufactured in Japan.
He said 40 to 50 of Japan's 140 semiconductor factories have been shut down as a result of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami and noted that DRAM and NAND memory are key components of both tablet computers and smartphones.
Within the next few weeks, there will be disruptions to the global supply chain and higher prices for computer chips, "leading inevitably to higher prices for the consumer," Dauvin said.
"There's about 100 euros ($141) worth of semiconductors in a smartphone," Dauvin said. "There's sure to be memory and Japanese components in there."
Apple's iPad and iPhone, for example, is assembled mostly in China but is brimming with "Made in Japan" parts according to IHS iSuppli, including the battery, electronic compass, NAND and DRAM memory and the touchscreen display.
"The supply chain will begin to dry up within about three weeks," Dauvin said, leading to shortages, delivery delays and forcing the shutdown of some production lines.
Japan's factories usually work at full capacity from April and May to crank out products for later in the year, including the Christmas holidays.
It remains difficult to predict when the country will resume producing at full capacity because aftershocks are continuing to play havoc with factories and electricity remains rationed in some areas.
Gartner research vice president Richard Gordon said he was cautiously optimistic Japan's disasters would not have too much of a negative impact on the global supply chain for electronics.
"Early on, when the earthquake just happened, there was lot of concern that there would be an immediate impact and that it would be quite significant on the global level in terms of a disruption to the electronics supply chain," he said.
"But over the past two or three weeks we've become a bit more optimistic that disruptions will be contained, that there will be enough flexibility in the supply chain to smooth out some of these disruptions," he said.
"It is still possible in the next months, into April and May, that we may see some shortages that we're not forecasting at the moment," Gordon said.
"But at this stage it's a bit early to say so," he said. "We will wait and see how the supply chain copes."
